100% NEW ZEALAND WOOL
Wool is an excellent natural fiber, which is soft, elastic and high in strength. The genetic characteristics of sheep endowed by nature make the wool carpet have excellent resilience, flame retardancy and stain resistance, and have the functions of heat insulation, noise reduction and natural humidity regulation. The fiber diameter of New Zealand wool is mostly between 31-40 microns, and the fiber length is between 100-300 mm. It has good strength, uniform quality, white color, no black fiber, and can be dyed into all colors in the color spectrum. These characteristics make New Zealand wool an ideal raw material for carpet production.
“Why do woolen carpets shed fur?”
First of all, because wool is a natural fiber, its length is limited, and it is made by rough spinning or semi worsted spinning, so (pure) wool carpet will fall off during use. There are several reasons for wool carpet falling:
1. In the process of flower cutting, some scattered wool fibers will be scattered in the carpet. Although fully treated by the vacuum cleaner. there are still some broken hairs, which will be exposed on the carpet surface under the action of external friction in the future use.
2. Since wool is a natural fiber, its length is limited to a certain extent. The wool length of carpet yarn is generally 2-5in (5-13cm) Because the yarn on the carpet surface is cut by scissors and the carpet surface is cut by a flat carpet knife, some fiber length on the carpet surface is less than the pile height of the carpet surface, which is the hidden danger of the carpet falling off in the future.
3. After the finished carpet is made, the twist of the yam surface decreases, the friction between the wool fibers in the yarn decreases, and the length of some fibers is less than the pile height of the carpet surface (the fiber length is less than 10mm). These wool fibers are not strong enough to be fixed in the carpet. Although some scattered wool fibers are reduced by vacuum cleaning, some wool fibers with low fiber length after being cut will still be taken out of the yarn by tension and friction and scattered on the carpet surface to form floating wool.
4. After the carpet has been used for a period of time, the surtace twist of the yarn is further reduced, so that some of the yarn fixed by the friction force is taken out by the external force, and then a small amount of wool appears.
